Nottkleff nature reserve

The Nottkleff nature reserve is a 22- hectare nature reserve north of Dahlerbrück in the municipality of Schalksmühle in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated as NSG by ordinance in 2015 by the Arnsberg district government . It is the only NSG in the municipality of Schalksmühle. In the east, the NSG extends directly to settlement areas and the Volme . A railway tunnel of the Volmetal-Bahn lies under the NSG.

Area description

The NSG is a forest area with old beech and oak-beech forests. In the NSG there are very steep slopes with relics of ravine forests . A natural, alder-lined spring stream and several silicate rock areas are part of the area. Species -rich wet and humid grassland areas can be found in the edge area near Schlüchtern . A wet meadow rich in orchids and a seepage spring complex are also located in this area of ​​the NSG.
