Nature reserves in Lebanon
There are a number of internationally significant protected areas in Lebanon, as the country lies in the transition area between Asia Minor , Asia , the Arabian Peninsula and Africa . Many bird migration routes cross the area. The list of protected areas is intended to facilitate systematic inclusion in the encyclopedia.
Protected areas
- Aammiq swamp ( Arabic عميق, Nabaa Amiq; (Houch al Saalouk, Houch al Aammiq) Living Lebanon ⊙ )
- Al Chouf Cedar Nature Reserve, Al Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve ( Arabic محمية أرز الشوف الطبيعية, DMG Maḥmīyat Arz aš-Šūf aṭ-ṭabīʿiyya )
- Bentael reserve (German daughter of God)
- Chnanir nature reserve (Chnanir, Keserwan district ), oak and pine forests, established in 2010.
- Horsh Ehden ( Arabic محمية حرش اهدن الطبيعية), ⊙
- Jabal Al Rihane 2007, 18,430 ha
- Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve Kesrouan, 2009, 6500 ha.
- Palm Islands Nature Reserve (Palm Island / Rabbit Island; Sanani Island, Ramkine / Fanar Island) 5 km² side of the city of Tripoli.
- Qaraoun Lake ( Arabic بحيرة القرعون, Buḥayrat al-Qara'ūn).
- Tannourine Cedars Forest Nature Reserve in Tannourine ( homepage ).
- Tire Coast Nature Reserve (Tire Coast Nature Reserve, www.suronline.org) Ramsar -Naturschutzgebiet.
- Wadi Al Hujair Nature Reserve, near Marj Uyun , Nabatea Governorate . Oak and Valonia (Quercus macrolepis) forests, established in 2010.
- Yammouneh Nature Reserve, between the Makmel and Mounaytra mountains .
