biography

Natuzza came from a poor and large family from Calabria . Her father tried to help the family and immigrated to Argentina when she was a little girl . But he never came back to Italy, so that Natuzza grew up without a father. She had to look after her siblings at an early age and help the mother around the house. So her school attendance was limited. Her level of education was almost like that of an illiterate woman .

She married a carpenter , with whom she had five children. On July 26, 1936, she received the Stigmata of the Passion of Christ. In 1944 she had a vision in which she was asked to build a large house to alleviate the needs of the young, sick and needy people. On May 13, 1987, the then Bishop of Mileto Domenico Tarcisio Cortese recognized the community of prayer cenacles. On her initiative, the Christian social centers Pasquale Colloca and San Francesco di Paola came into being in her hometown .

burial

At her funeral on November 4, 2009, six Italian bishops , more than a hundred priests and thirty thousand mourners gave her final conduct .
