Naumburg vineyard race

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Naumburg vineyard race was a demonstration and regularity race for historic automobiles and motorcycles until 2011 and was a real mountain race from 1977 to 1988 , which was part of the GDR championship in road racing in 1979. But from old newspaper reports it can be concluded that a regularity evaluation was carried out as early as the 1920s.

The venue is the winding district road from Naumburg -Almrich to Niedermöllern in the Burgenland district in southern Saxony-Anhalt. The route has been used since at least 1923. Initially only as a Naumburg hill climb, since 1977 as a Naumburg vineyard race. In the 1920s the line was still 3300 m long. Since 1977 the shortened route of 2400 m with a difference in altitude of 126 m has been used. In 1986 the vineyard race had 10,000 visitors.

The organizer of the Naumburg vineyard race is the Motorsportclub Naumburg eV in the ADMV .

The participants in the race included Peter Mücke , Ulli Melkus , Bernd Kasper, Klaus Schumann and Johannes Kehrer.
