Silver Stone Trophy
The Silver Stone Trophy is an ice hockey trophy of the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF . It was awarded to the winner of the European Hockey League , the highest club competition in European ice hockey from 1996 to 2000. It also served as the winner's cup of the IIHF European Champions Cup (2005-2008), with the winner being able to keep a replica of the cup. Finally, it was awarded to the winner of the 2008/09 Champions Hockey League, which was played only once .
The cup was designed by the Italian Enzo Bosi and weighs about seven kilograms, which is roughly equivalent to a British stone .
design
The trophy, designed in 1997 by the Italian Enzo Bosi, is 86 centimeters high. Since the third version of 2008 added a base in the form of a puck with the logo of the Champions Hockey League, the total height has been 96.5 centimeters. The weight of the silver trophy is numbered on a British stone - hence the name Silver Stone . This corresponds to about six and a half kilograms.
