Peter Mücke (born November 21, 1946 in Berlin ) is a German racing car driver and team boss of Mücke Motorsport . Mücke is the father of the racing driver Stefan Mücke .

Life

Peter Mücke came into contact with motorsport through his father, who, as a state coach for motorsport, took his son into the paddock on the Bernau Loop . Mücke began his motorsport career in the sixties as a mechanic ("screwdriver") in car racing. After Formula 3 he was a mechanic of a Melkus RS 1000 in 1970 and started the following year as a driver for the Dresden MC Lockwitzgrund with a Wartburg 353 . In the 1973 season he started in his own Wartburg for the first time and reached 2nd place overall. In 1976 he switched to a Zastava 101 , which he got as a crashed car and converted with his team into a light touring car. As a private driver, he often succeeded in outclassing the technically better supported Wartburg factory drivers in races. However, manipulation investigations on Mücke's vehicle did not lead to any complaints.

In 1982 Mücke switched from touring car racing to auto-cross racing. For this he built mid-eighties, a four-wheel drive buggy on in which two 750-cm 3 - Yamaha engines ever drives one of the axes. After several GDR championships, Mücke was also able to win three European championships after the fall of the Wall .

As a result of the further professionalization after German reunification, Mücke founded his own motorsport team in 1998 , in which not only he and his son Stefan competed, but also the future Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel as a Formula 3 driver.

Aside from racing, the trained master mechanic Mücke set up a Ford dealership and a Yamaha motorcycle dealer in Berlin-Altglienicke after the end of the GDR .
