Nauplios (son of Clytoneos)
Nauplios was the mythical king of Evia , husband of Clymene (daughter of Katreus ), father of Palamedes , Oiax and Nausimedon .
Nauplios was supposed to throw the eye (daughter of Aleos ) into the sea with her son Telephos , but instead put her in a chest. He took part in the Trojan War with his sons . His son Palamedes was stoned to death by the Greeks for alleged treason. In revenge, Nauplios misled the Greek ships by setting beacons on his island, so that many ships crashed and sank on the cliffs of Caphyreus .
According to another version, Palamedes was killed by Trojans / allies.
