NavaRho (also Nava-Rho or Navarho ) is a radio navigation method that was developed around 1950 and is now meaningless .

It was designed for medium and long-range navigation and worked with long waves in the 100 kHz range, which have favorable reflection and propagation conditions for medium distances. The measuring principle is the amplitude and phase comparison of the radio waves. Each ground station is an equilateral triangle of high radio masts at a distance of 0.4 wavelengths (about 1100 m). In a time scheme, 2 radio waves are superimposed one after the other to form a directional diagram offset by 120 ° , while the distance is measured by phase comparison .

The name is made up of the first letters of "Navigation" and "Rho-Theta". The term Rho-Theta stands for navigation and location methods in which a direction measurement (angle "Theta", Greek θ) is combined with a distance measurement ( Rho , Greek ρ, the letter stands for r ang - English for area ).

Similar procedures were the Navaglobe (pure long-range navigation) and two more modern long-wave systems: the Russian Alfa and the international OMEGA .
