Karl Rieke (born March 10, 1929 in Brandenburg an der Havel ; † October 29, 2018 ) was a German SED functionary and agricultural functionary. From 1963 to 1971 he was a member of the Central Committee of the SED

Life

Rieke, the son of a worker, did an agricultural apprenticeship from 1944 to 1946. In 1946 he joined the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). Between 1949 and 1954 he was economic manager and manager of various nationally owned estates . Since 1954 he was chairman of the LPG "Unity" in Rogäsen ( Brandenburg district ). From 1956 to 1960 he was an honorary member of the district council , and from 1958 to 1967 he was also a member of the SED district leadership in Potsdam . In 1959 he attended the agricultural college in Oranienburg / Luisenhof, which he left as a state-certified farmer.

From 1960 to 1971 Rieke was a member of the State Council and from 1961 to 1963 chairman of the Central LPG Advisory Board at the GDR Council of Ministers , then from 1963 to 1968 a member of the Agriculture Council of the GDR.

From 1963 to 1971 he was also a member of the People's Chamber and a member of the Central Committee of the SED .
