Blood residues, some of which are no longer visible, can enter the bloodstream through this route and pathogens such as viruses , bacteria and fungi can be transmitted.

description

Needle sharing increased a lot in the 80s . Nowadays, thanks to offers, for example, for exchanging syringes or for "semi-legal" consumption (see also drug consumption room ), needle sharing is severely restricted. This practice is still widespread in prisons , as sterile syringes are very rarely available in a prison. The establishment of syringe machines in prisons is politically controversial, despite the health benefits.

Optimal infection protection can only be achieved through the use of sterile tools and unstretched drugs , except by completely avoiding such drugs .

Drug sharing

Drug sharing is defined as the collective consumption of drugs with just one injection. The risk of infection is very high here, as it can never be ruled out that the other consumers may suffer from an unnoticed disease such as HIV. The only way to minimize the risk is to use one syringe per person.

Work sharing

In the context of drugs, work-sharing is understood as the common use of tools such as knives or transport bags. Since sterility can never be ruled out here either, you should always sterilize your tools accordingly.
