Neferu (III.) , Also Nofru or Nefru , was the wife of the ancient Egyptian king Sesostris I and the mother of his successor Amenemhet II. She was the daughter of Amenemhet I. As the mother of a king , she was called Mut-nesut-biti ("Mother of the King of Upper and Lower Egypt"). As the daughter of a king, she bore the title of "King's Daughter". As the wife of a ruler, she bore the title of "consort of the king". Neferu was buried in a small pyramid within the pyramid district of Sesostris I in Lisht . Nothing else is known about her life. She is mentioned in the famous story of Sinuhe . Sinuhe was a palace official with the title "Servant of the Royal Harem".
