Neisse water transfer
The Neisse water transfer is a project of the Lausitzer und Mitteldeutsche Bergbau-Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH (LMBV). In April 2006, the water transfer was put into operation to flood the Lausitz open-cast mining lakes in the Lausitz Lake District. From Steinbach an der Lausitzer Neisse , the water from the Neisse is pumped to the new digging through a pumping station and an 11 km long steel pressure pipe (nominal diameter 1,400 mm). Via it it reaches the Weißen Schöps , which flows into the Spree via the Schwarzen Schöps . The transfer capacity is a maximum of 2 m³ / s.
South of Spremberg , the Spreewitz can be pumped into the Upper Landgraben by the Spreewitz pumping station , which connects to the Partwitzer See and Sedlitzer See opencast mines.
