Nelly's Folly is a 1961 American animated short film directed by Chuck Jones .
action
The giraffe Nelly lives in Africa and is a passionate singer. She sings to the animals of the jungle and even surpasses the birds with her singing. One day she is discovered and hired by a safari traveler. She goes to America, where she keeps the houses full with her singing.
However, Nelly feels lonely over time and one day gets lost in a zoo, where she meets a giraffe man. Although he has a partner, Nelly flirts with him and a relationship war breaks out, which is especially popularized in the sensational papers. Nelly's star is falling due to her private life and soon no more viewers come to her performances. Her manager drops her and so Nelly returns to Africa, where she sings sad songs until one day a giraffe man joins her singing. He and Nelly become a couple and the giraffe is finally happy.
