The Nelly Point is an ice-free promontory in the southeast of Elephant Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located between Muckle Bluff and Walker Point and south of The Cornet Mountain .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2015 after the giant petrel ( Macronectes giganteus ), also known as Nelly in English-speaking countries .
