The Nelson Point ( Spanish Cabo Nelson ) is a headland on the west coast of Elephant Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It forms the southeast boundary of the entrance to Table Bay .

The Spanish name of the headland appears for the first time on an Argentine nautical map from 1977. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee transferred this designation in 2003, correcting the geographic coordinates, in an adapted translation into English.
