Nenad Babović

Nenad Babović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Ненад Бабовић ; * 2. January 1976 in Belgrade ) is a former Serbian lightweight - rowers who for Yugoslavia and until 2006 before 2002 Serbia and Montenegro took.

Athletic career

The 1.86 m tall Nenad Babović rowed at the 2001 World Championships together with Veljko Urošević in sixth place in the lightweight two-man without helmsman . At the 2004 Olympic Games , the two together with Goran Nedeljković and Miloš Tomić reached seventh place in the lightweight four without a helmsman . 2007 Babović started again in the lightweight foursome without a helmsman, reaching the C-final at the 2007 World Championships was not enough for the hoped-for Olympic qualification for 2008. At the 2007 European ChampionshipsThe Serbian four in the line-up from 2004 won the silver medal behind the Italians, as well as a year later at the European Championships .

At the World Championships in 2009 Tomić and Babović won the bronze medal in two. Three weeks later at the European Championships , the two received bronze in the foursome together with Nemanja Nešić and Miloš Stanojević . In the same line-up, the Serbian four-man won the bronze medal at the 2011 European Championships two years later . With Nikola Selaković for Nešić, who died in June 2012, the Serbian four-man also won bronze at the 2012 European Championships , this was the last international medal for Nenad Babović.
