Nenndorf (Wittmund)

Nenndorf is a village in the East Frisian town of Wittmund . It belongs to the district of Uttel .

The village is north of the center of Wittmund. The Harle flows on the southwestern edge of the village, the B 461 passes on the eastern edge of the village.

The place is first mentioned in 1452 as tho Nyendorpe . The name tho Nendorpe has been handed down from 1491 . The current name has been in use since 1684. The place name is a combination of Old Frisian or Middle Low German nī (e) / nie / nig (g) e ('new') with the addition of village . The current spelling goes back to the dative in the nêen dorpe .
