Neobuxbaumia multiareolata is a species of the genus Neobuxbaumia in the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Neobuxbaumia multiareolata grows individually and reaches a height of 7 to 12 meters. The columnar, cloudy green shoots have a diameter of 10 to 15 centimeters. The approximately 20 ribs are wide and triangular in cross-section. The single dark red central spine , which can also be missing, is 1.2 to 3.5 centimeters long. The three to six initially brown or brownish red radial spines turn gray with age. They are a bit flexible and up to 3.5 inches long.

The tubular to slightly bell-shaped flowers appear near the shoot tips as well as along the entire shoot. They are reddish purple in color and 2.5 to 4.5 inches long. Your pericarpel and the flower tube are covered with cusps and triangular, fringed scales. They are bare during the flowering period . The almost spherical fruits are 2 to 3 centimeters long and tear open irregularly.
