Neon is a German hit duo from North Rhine-Westphalia .

Career

The media designers Thomas Reese and Andreas Robitzky founded the joint project "Neon" in April 2013. They presented the first demo songs at a performance at a street festival in Cologne, which was followed by a one-year collaboration with TV presenter Uwe Hübner as part of a consultancy contract. They were participants in the RTL-West weekly documentary "Schlagerhoffnung 2014", where they were eliminated before the final.

Marcel Pieofke took over management in 2015. As part of this collaboration, the first single Sternenflieger and the accompanying music video were released. The debut album Universum was presented on February 28, 2016 in the Bochum nightclub "Matrix".

The organizer Markus Krampe was looking for a new artist for his Olé concert series in 2016 and his choice fell on neon. At the finale of the Olé Tour 2016, Neon presented their new single In this night in front of over 40,000 Schlager fans in the Schalke arena . A TV report on RTL portrayed Neon on its way to winning the title. In 2017, 2018 and 2019, neon was once again an integral part of the Olé parties.

In October 2017 they won the title “Sonnenklar.TV Artist of the Year” as part of a hit tour by Sonnenklar.TV. They were able to defend this title in 2018 as part of a live TV broadcast in Munich. This was followed by TV appearances at the "Kunath & Co Holiday Show" and the "Golden Sun" gala.

On April 8, 2018, Neon presented their second album "2.0" in the Weststadthalle Essen.
