The Neoplan N 4016 is a low-floor - bus model of the manufacturer Gottlob Auwärter GmbH & Co. and successor of Neoplan N 416 SL. It was first built in the Stuttgart plant and later also in Poland.
The bus was delivered with a front and center door, and an additional door behind the rear axle was also possible. The model was also manufactured as a right-hand drive for countries with left-hand traffic , for British transport companies also with the usual design there only with a front door and an emergency exit door on the right behind the rear axle.
In addition to the articulated bus version N 4021 , there were also midibus versions of the model in three different lengths: Neoplan N 4009, N 4010 and N 4011.
The Neoplan N 4016 was built in 1989 with a uniform high window edge, door 1 and door 2 were completely stepless and the seats were all arranged on platforms. From 1989/90, Neoplan built its low-floor buses with the window edge pulled down between door 1 and door 2. In this area, the seats were no longer arranged on platforms. These were designated not only as N 4016, but also as N 4014. From 1994 the Neoplan N 4016/4014 got a facelift and in 1999 the production of the N 4016/4014 was stopped, followed by the Neoplan N 4416 .
Low-entry version N 4015
With a chassis from Scania L113 CLL (Scania FlexCi), Auwärter produced a low-entry bus that only had a low-floor floor of 340 mm in the front area, two steps in front of the rear axle led to the further rising floor over the diesel engine, the was housed in the stern. The entrance height could be lowered by 120 mm by kneeling . The vehicle was 11,985 mm long, the width of the car body was 2,500 mm, and the height with 295/88 R 2205 tires was 3,020 mm. Various Scania diesel engines were available: three engines (162 kW / 220 PS, 172 kW / 234 PS, 235 kW / 320 PS) in accordance with the Euro I emissions standard and a Euro II engine (191 kW / 260 PS).
