The cargo ship series Neptun 341 , also called series Rostok , is a cargo ship type of the Rostock shipyard "Neptun".

history

The series was manufactured from 1973 to 1976 in 19 units. The ships are intended primarily for the combined transport of general cargo, containers, as well as pallet and bulk cargo loads.

First ship and namesake of the series was the passed on March 23, 1973 Rostok with the hull number 341. The in Ismail -based Rostok stranded on 2 September 1991 at the Sulina channel of the Danube, was a total loss. The completion of the series, which was completely delivered to the USSR , was the Rybinsk , which was completed on January 30, 1976 and renamed Kapitan Grinenko in 2001 , is still in service. A few other ships of the type are still in service. The career of Rechitsa , who was delivered in 1974 , ended tragically , stranded and sank about 60 nautical miles south of Rhodes on November 25, 1976 , killing 30 sailors.

technology

The ships were powered by a 3972 kW two-stroke diesel engine of the type K6Z 57/80 F manufactured under MAN license from the manufacturer VEB Maschinenbau Halberstadt, which acts directly on a fixed propeller. The machine system is set up for partially automated operation.

The hulls with bulbous bow are joined together in a sectional construction. The living and working area is arranged in the aft deck superstructure.

The four holds with a volume of 7,275 m 3 grain space and 6,885 m 3 bale space have intermediate decks with forklift-reinforced smooth deck hatches, cargo spaces II and III are closed with folding hatch covers that are divided amidships.

138 containers can be transported. The loading gear consists of three 20 ton swing booms and one 40 ton boom.
