Neptunus Rotterdam is a baseball and softball club from Rotterdam . From 2014 to 2017, the club had a sponsorship contract with the Good Intention Foundation, a culture-promoting foundation from Curaçao , and before that with the consulting company DOOR, which is why it is also known under the names Curaçao Neptunus and DOOR Neptunus . The club plays in the Honkbal Hoofdklasse , the top division in Dutch baseball and is the record champion there with 18 championship titles.
history
The Neptunus Rotterdam club was founded on May 3, 1943 as the baseball division of SC Neptunus . On June 17, 1973, a separate softball department was added. In 1981 the club was able to win the first championship title in the Honkbal Hoofdklasse . In total, the team won the league 18 times, including seven times in a row from 1999 to 2005 and five times in a row from 2013 to 2017. In addition, the team won the CEB European Cup nine times .
