Nergisi
Nergisi (* 1592 Sarajevo ; † 1635 Gebze ; actually Nergisî-zâde Mehmed Efendi ) was an Ottoman poet.
After his training at a medrese in Istanbul he worked as a Müderris and Qādī in various cities of Rumelia . After he was promoted to Reich historian, he died on his first campaign in Gebze after falling from his horse.
His main work is a hamse . Taeschner describes the style as follows: "Written in accordance with the baroque taste of the time in an almost inedible, pompous, overloaded language".
In addition, a collection of 50 letters as well as a historical work about the reign of the Bosniak Murteza Pascha in Ofen has been preserved.
Various calligraphies have also been preserved.
