Nero is a fungus-resistant table grape from Hungary , thanks to its early ripeness and good frost resistance, it can also be grown in colder climates.

This red wine variety is also suitable for winemaking and is pressed on a small scale in the Netherlands and Germany . The grape variety has a strong growth, ripens in late August to mid-September, the grapes are medium-sized. The loosely fitting oval berries are dark blue, crisp and sweet in taste. Nero is tolerant of powdery mildew and downy mildew, has good frost resistance, is easily sensitive to stalks and tends to rot when overripe. The grape variety Nero is suitable for cultivation in the home garden, it is very robust against diseases and therefore requires almost no plant protection .
