The somewhat oval stone hill hides a stone box in the center . It measured 21.6 m × 20 m and was 2.7 m high. It had no curbs, but Craw found that the core of the cairn (14 mx 13.4 m) was within a 2.4 m wall-like rampart of carefully layered stones. It was 0.6 m high on the outside and 0.3 m on the inside. A little north of the center of the hill lies a north-facing massive stone box that was placed in a natural gravel pit. The top plate of the stone box is about 150 mm below the level of the earth's surface. The box was additionally protected by 18 flat plates that were completely or partially on the cover plate. The stone box is 1.6 m × 0.65 m long and 0.6 m deep. The underside of the protruding sides 2.0 m × 1.07 m measured deck plate carries bowl (engl. Cupmarks) and at least ten Axtgravuren . The box contained soil in which a human tooth, some ocher, and some pieces of charcoal were found. The inside of the northern end plate was decorated with two large axes, the edges of which point upwards.

To the south of the central box, an arrangement of plates indicates that there may have been another burial. There are two upright standing plates, one of which has been decorated with two pecked circles, each about 180 mm in diameter. The plate is in the Royal Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. Another grave was found 3.3 m northeast of the central box. The oval pit, dug into the natural gravel, measures 1.5 mx 0.7 m and is 0.8 m deep. It contained a bovine tooth and fragments of charcoal.

Nearby are the menhirs of Nether Largie .
