Netth Soul (born September 16, 1972 in Ivory Coast ) is an Ivorian musician.

Life

He started singing and playing the harmonica at the age of eleven and did not learn to play the guitar until he was 14 . At 15 (and later at 19) he took part in a presentation of young artists, comparable to Germany looking for the superstar , so he became known nationwide at an early age. In 1998 he took second place in a similar competition. His first album was released in July 1999 and received the award for best text in Burkina Faso in 2000.

Netth Soul begins touring and increasingly performing in the Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Benin . He quickly becomes one of the most famous musicians in his country. A close collaboration with his mentor Alpha Blondy promotes his career. His second album was released in July 2002 (God does not sleep / Dieu ne there pas).

In April 2004 he married his manager Adissa Toure, an event that was followed with great media interest in Ivory Coast. His musical foster father and friend Alpha Blondy is the host of the wedding celebration.

Netth Soul, who has already studied German , also works as a German teacher in phases. With the qualification of the “Elephants”, the Ivorian national team for the 2006 World Cup , the song “Football Festival” is created, which Netth Soul sings in German. With the support of the Abidjan Goethe Institute , in which he performs the song on the occasion of the World Cup group drawing, it quickly becomes a hit because of its otherness.

In 2006 Netth Soul is working on a new album that will again contain international titles. A maxi-CD for the International Red Cross of the Ivory Coast will also be released shortly in Ivory Coast.

In his lyrics, Netth Soul deals with the situation in his country, his belief in God and the desire for peace. He sings in Dioula (an African language), French , English and recently in German. Musically, Netth Soul is not only a reggae musician , shaped by his friends Alpha Blondy and Ismaël Isaac , his music also includes a wide range of thoughtful guitar pieces.
