history

Today's new building office in Hanover goes back to the establishment of a new building group in 1965 at what was then the Hanover water and shipping office. In May 1969, the new building office for the expansion of the Mittelland Canal was founded, which existed until the end of October 1971. On November 1st, the new building office for the expansion of the Mittelland Canal was dissolved and the tasks were taken over again by the new building group of the Hanover water and shipping office at that time.

In 1978 the Hanover Water and Shipping Office was dissolved and a Hanover branch of the Braunschweig Water and Shipping Office was set up. On September 1, 1981, this branch was affiliated to the new building office for the expansion of the Mittelland Canal in Braunschweig.

On January 1, 1990, the new building office responsible for the expansion of the Mittelland Canal was founded in Hanover. The existing new building office in Braunschweig was converted into a branch office in Braunschweig of the new building office in Hanover. On June 1, 1992, this branch office was affiliated to the Helmstedt Waterway Construction Office , which was newly established for the implementation of Project 17 of the German Unity Transport Projects , which is responsible for the expansion of the Mittelland Canal between Wolfsburg and Magdeburg.

At the end of 2000, the previously existing Minden new building office was converted into a branch office of the new building office in Hanover, after the Osnabrück branch of the new building office in Minden had been incorporated into the new building office in Hanover on August 1, 1999. On May 1, 2003, the Minden branch was closed.
