New melody quadrille

The Neue Melodien-Quadrille is a quadrille by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 254). It was first performed on March 17, 1861 in the Dianabad Hall in Vienna.

Remarks

Similar to the Melody Quadrille (op. 112), motifs from various Italian Open were brought together and processed into this quadrille. The individual themes are from the operas Rigoletto , La Traviata and The Troubadour by Giuseppe Verdi ; Lucia di Lammermoor and La fille du régiment by Gaetano Donizetti and La sonnambula by Vincenzo Bellini .

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 4 minutes and 49 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
