The New Synagogue in Gyöngyös , a Hungarian city ​​in Heves County about 90 km east of Budapest , was built in 1929/30. The secular synagogue at Bartók Béla tér is a protected cultural monument .

The building, designed by the architect Lipót Baumhorn , was built on the plan of a Greek cross with a mighty dome . Numerous smaller domes adorn the corner pillars and side walls. The building was used as a furniture store for a long time. The building is currently being renovated and will serve as a cultural center.
