Neuer Markt 13 (Stralsund)
The house with the postal address Neuer Markt 13 is a listed building in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund on the Neuer Markt at the corner of Langenstrasse .
The three-storey , three-axis , gable-facing plastered building was built in the first half of the 18th century.
During a renovation in 1925, the simple facade was designed and a triangular gable was added to the Neuer Markt .
The building, which housed a schnapps distillery , later the “Café Lewerenz” and a “ milk bar ” from 1956 until the political change in the GDR , was extensively renovated in 2012 and 2013 after years of vacancy and decay; the restaurant was reopened under the old name.
The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 602.
