The New Jewish Cemetery Warendorf is located in the town of Warendorf in the Warendorf district in North Rhine-Westphalia . As a Jewish cemetery , it is an architectural monument and entered in the list of monuments under monument number 460 .

About 15 tombstones have been preserved in the cemetery in front of the Münstertor at the fork in Hugo-Spiegelstrasse and Gerberstrasse .

history

The cemetery was occupied from 1823 to 1938 and then again from 1974 to 1987.

The dead from Freckenhorst , Westkirchen , Harsewinkel and Beelen were also buried there. The cemetery was devastated during the Nazi era . The remaining tombstones were placed in the northern area of ​​the cemetery in 1945, but the graves are spread across the entire cemetery area.
