Neufra is a district of Rottweil in Baden-Württemberg .

history

Neufra was probably founded around 600 AD on the Roman road from Arae Flaviae (place name of the Roman Rottweil) into the Danube valley. However, there is no precise evidence of the origin of the place. Neufra is first clearly mentioned in a document in 1309 in a legacy from Adelheid von Sinkingen to the Alpirsbach monastery. The imperial city of Rottweil acquires the place around 1500. In 1802/03 Neufra and Rottweil join the Kingdom of Württemberg.

On January 1, 1975 Neufra was incorporated into the district town of Rottweil.

traffic

Neufra is on the federal highway 14 , which bypasses the place on its western side. Neufra is easily accessible by public transport, there is a stop at the Gäubahn Stuttgart-Singen, which is served by the ring train, and bus connections to Rottweil and towards Wellendingen .
