Neuhaara

Neuhaara was an independent village in the district of Zwickau , Free State of Saxony , until 1924 , and is now part of the city of Wilkau-Haßlau . The place gained importance with industrialization in the late 19th century, when the first significant development took place. The development was particularly favored by the good transport links along Kirchberger Strasse and the narrow-gauge railway Wilkau – Kirchberg, which opened in 1881 .

Neuhaara is a district in the city of Wilkau-Haßlau . The name goes back to the former village of Neuhaara, which was incorporated into the municipality of Wilkau in 1924 together with the village of Haara . At that time Neuhaara was the southernmost district of the municipality of Wilkau and continued to border on the village of Culitzsch . On May 1, 1934, Neuhaara and the municipality of Wilkau became part of the newly founded city of Wilkau-Haßlau as part of a municipal reform . There are never more than 150 to 200 people living in Neuhaara.

Geographically, the place is in the valley of the Rödelbach , which is a tributary of the Zwickauer Mulde from the southern district of Zwickau . To the left and right of the Rödelbach valley lies Neuhaara in a hilly landscape overgrown with meadows and whale blankets. The development is arranged along the S 277 state road (Kirchberger Straße) and consists of a few residential buildings and a few small and medium-sized craft businesses.
