Neukubschütz , in Upper Sorbian Nowe Kubšicy , is a settlement in the municipality of Kubschütz in Saxony . It is part of the official Sorbian settlement area in Upper Lusatia .

geography

The settlement is located south of Kubschütz in the Loesslehm hill area in front of the Czorneboh train on federal road 6 and the Bautzen – Löbau railway line .

history

The Schlieferschenke ( Upper Sorbian Šlifarnje ) was located south of Kubschütz until the beginning of the 19th century on Kleine Görlitzer Straße . Granodiorite was extracted in several quarries on the hilltop. Around 1815 there was also a forge and two windmills at the inn. The post mill was a grinding mill, the other windmill was used to raise water in the quarries.

After the construction of the new road from Bautzen to Löbau, the new Schlieferschenke was built on this street in 1831. In 1846 a stop was built not far from the tavern on the new Bautzen – Löbau railway line. Around this a small scattered settlement formed, which the Kubschütz farmers called "Ziegenfauze". At the beginning of the 20th century, the post mill was shut down and a little later overturned in a storm.

The quarry with around 30 employees was given up after the Second World War. Due to its location on trunk road 6 and the railway, Neukubschütz has grown rapidly since the 1950s. A poultry slaughterhouse and an electrical workshop were built in the village. A repair workshop and a sports field were created on the quarry site. Settlement houses were built along the connecting road to Kubschütz. At the beginning of the 1970s, 240 people lived in Neukubschütz; thus the place had become significantly larger than Kubschütz, which only had 180 inhabitants. Between 2004 and 2006, a bypass of the federal highway 6 was built south of Neukubschütz. Neukubschütz was never independent, but always part of the Kubschütz community.
