Neumeyer Consort

The Neumeyer Consort is an early music ensemble . It was founded in 2007 by Barbara Mauch-Heinke ( baroque violin ), Markus Stein ( harpsichord ) and Felix Koch ( baroque cello ) with the aim of making the liveliness and versatility of baroque music audible in different instrumentation options. Thus, depending on the concert program, the line-up of the Neumeyer Consort ranges from a chamber music formation to a large baroque orchestra. The name goes back to Fritz Neumeyer , one of the pioneers of historical performance practice .

In addition to the lively concert activity at home and abroad, the Neumeyer Consort is also committed to an educational mandate. Since 2007 it has been “ensemble in residence” at the international “Singing Summer” master classes at the Mainz University of Music . In addition, the founding members of the ensemble have taken on the musical sponsorship of the "ConAffetto" orchestra of the Academy for Early Music in Saarland and are invited there several times a year as lecturers for the rehearsal and concert phases.

In 2010 the Neumeyer Consort Scholarship Academy was launched, which enables young up-and-coming musicians to make professional music together with members of the ensemble on a project-by-project basis. The ensemble also developed several concert projects for children.

In addition to radio, television and CD productions, the ensemble has received concert invitations and the like. a. to the Days of Early Music in Saarland, the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera, the Magdeburg Telemann Festival, the Göttingen Handel Festival, the Schwetzingen Festival of the SWR, the Rheingau Music Festival, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, South Africa (Cape Town, Stellenbosch) and the Norfolk Concerts to England.

In addition to the Neumeyer Consort, the Neumeyer Chamber Choir was founded in 2008 as a concert partner under the direction of Felix Koch. Today the Gutenberg Chamber Choir of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz is the main vocal partner of the ensemble.
