Nine yanas

The Nine Yanas ( Tib. Theg pa dgu ) refer to the nine "vehicles" for individual spiritual realization within the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism . Yana means vehicle in the sense of a means for individual spiritual realization. The Nine Yanas are divided into the three cause vehicles and the six result vehicles.

  • The three outer tantras:
    • Kriyayoga , external acts such as B. ritual cleansing .;
