The Neusser Privatschule (NEPS) is a private school founded in 1971 in the Neusser Barbaraviertel west of Düsseldorf-Heerdt in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss , which uses a monument as a school building . It is state-recognized according to SchulG NRW and prepares from class 5 for the technical college entrance qualification according to class 10 (FOR) and the Abitur according to class 13 ( G9 ). As a supplementary school , it cannot take any exams itself. Therefore, external examinations for the technical college entrance qualification and Abitur for non-school students are carried out in the Düsseldorf district of Benrath . The Neuss private school offers smaller class sizes and more lessons in the main subjects than state schools. During the coronavirus pandemic, online teaching via Microsoft Teams was introduced in March 2020.

school-building

The school is located in a former administration building, which has been listed under No. 2/010 (1/219) since 1992 . The 3-storey brick building , completed in 1929 according to plans by the architect Fritz Hildebrand, Düsseldorf, with a 4-storey middle section in 4 axes and side wings in 4 axes each, has a high hipped tile roof. The building has 3 fronts with canted pilasters. At the rear there is a balcony that was added later. The main facade consists of a strong cornice made of artificial sandstone on the ground floor, sparingly inserted brick ornamentation, portal framing in artificial sandstone and strong eaves. Inside there is a staircase made of artificial stone with original wooden railing, a second staircase was changed by installing an elevator at the end of the 1960s. Windows and doors were renewed. The building was placed under monument protection because it is worth preserving as a high-quality example of a traditionalist administrative building from the 1920s with expressionist details, especially for architectural and local historical reasons.
