Neustraße 2

Neustraße 2 is a listed residential building in Lutherstadt Wittenberg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the old town of Lutherstadt Wittenberg on the west side of Neustraße. The building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Neustraße 1 to the south .

The two-story building was built in 1916 in the Heimat style based on a design by Paul Friedrich . It shows elements of neoclassicism and Art Deco and forms a design unit with the neighboring building at Neustraße 1, which was also designed by Friedrich. The facade is symmetrical with five axes. There is a bat dormer in the middle of the roof .

On the northern gable is the inscription ELG Maler from the GDR era , which refers to a purchasing and delivery cooperative of the craft . There are corresponding symbols next to it.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 35985 .
