Neutral gray

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In photography, neutral gray is a shade of gray that contains all colors of the spectrum . Such a gray tone is perceived "without a color cast " .

A challenge in printing technology is to print a neutral gray from the printing inks cyan , magenta and yellow . Print clients often create gray areas in their print templates not in black , but in three colors, or when converting from  RGB to  CMYK this gray is not converted to the K channel , but divided into CMY channels.

The neutral gray is used in neutral density filters and in the gray card .
