The Tuco or Nevado de Tuco is a mountain peak in the South American Andes in Peru .
The Nevado de Tuco with a height of 5454 m (according to other sources: 5479 m ) is one of the southernmost peaks in the snow-covered Cordillera Blanca in north-western central Peru.
Neighboring peaks are the Challhua (5476 m), the Juchuraju (5392 m), the Pastoruri (5240 m), the Santón (5256 m) and the Queullaraju (5603 m). Further south in the Cordillera Blanca is only the Rajuluna with 5360 m.
On the southern flank of the Tuco rises in one of the glacial lakes of the Rio Tuco , which is the main tributary of the Laguna Conococha with a length of 30 km , from which the Río Santa flows along the Cordillera Blanca into the Pacific .
