Neville Bonner

Neville Thomas Bonner AO (born March 28, 1922 in Ukerebagh Island, New South Wales , † February 5, 1999 in Ipswich , Queensland ) was an Australian politician ( Liberal Party ). In 1971 he was the first Aboriginal to enter the Australian Parliament. He was a member of the Senate as a representative of Queensland until 1983 . From 1968 to 1975 he was President of the One People of Australia League (OPAL).
