New Barakpur , also New Barrackpore , is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal . The city is part of the Kolkata agglomeration .
The city belongs to the district of Uttar 24 Pargana . New Barakpur has the status of a municipality . The city is divided into 20 wards .
Demographics
The city's population is 76,837 according to the 2011 census. New Barakpur has a gender ratio of 1010 women per 1000 men and thus a rare surplus of women for India.
