The New Year Peak (English for New Year peak ) is approximately 2600 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Millen Range it is the dominant elevation on the northwest side of the Toboggan Gap .
Its name was given at the suggestion of the New Zealand geologist Bradley Field, whose team from the New Zealand Geological Survey had camped here at the turn of the year 1981/82.
