New Zealand Twenty20 Competition 2005/06
The 2005/06 New Zealand Twenty20 Competition was the first season of the New Zealand Twenty20 Championship later known as the HRV Cup . The traditional first-class teams representing New Zealand districts took part in the tournament. The winners were the Canterbury Wizards , who beat the Auckland Aces in the finals in Eden Park with 6 wickets runs .

The six teams played in two groups, divided according to regional criteria, against each other team once. The first two of the group qualified for the final.
