history
As a result of restructuring in the Chinese Dota 2 scene, Team Newbee was founded on February 23, 2014, consisting of the players Zhang "xiao8" Ning , Zhang "Mu" Pan , Chen "Hao" Zhihao , Zhou "KingJ" Yang and Gong "ZSMJ" Jian announced. Shortly after the founding, Jiao "Banana" Wang and Wang "SanSheng" Zhaohui replaced the two players Zhou "KingJ" Yang and Gong "ZSMJ" Jian. Already qualified for The International 2014, the team attracted attention before the tournament with a first place in the MarsTV Dota 2 League and a third place in the WPC League .
At The International 2014, the so far most highly endowed e-sports tournament of all time, the team barely survived the group stage. In the further course of the tournament Newbee was able to win all six games without defeat and prevail in the final against Vici Gaming with 3: 1, with which the team secured the prize money of $ 5,028,121. After the tournament, Zhang “xiao8” Ning temporarily withdrew. He was replaced by Zhang "Rabbit" Wang in August 2014 . Since then, Newbee has won further titles at the World Cyber Arena 2014 and the IeSF World Championships 2014. At the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2015, however, the team dropped out early.
Since October 2014, Newbee also has a junior team, which appears as Newbee.Y . Since the end of 2014, the organizations have also signed players in the Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm disciplines .
