The Nedo Monastery ( Tib . Gnas mdo dgon ), with monastic name Thra Barren Chennyi Ling ( Tib . Khra 'od bde chen gling nyi ) is a monastery of Nedo Kagyu -branch (also: Nedo Kagyüpa) of the Karma Kagyu -Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism . It is located in the Donkha grazing area in the community of Xia Raqug ( Ch . Thra Öde Chennyi Ling was founded in the late 17th century after Karma Chagme (also Nedo Karma Chagme; 1613–1678), the founder of the Nedo Kagyu order and disciple of the 6th Shamarpa Chökyi Wangchug ( zhwa dmar chos kyi dbang phyug ; 1584–1630), had lived here for decades. His son Karma Chagme Rega Anye, who reincarnated as the lineage holder of the Nedo Order, began building the monastery.
