Ngai-Ling Sum

Ngai-Ling Sum (* 1952 ) is a British sociologist and political scientist . Her research focuses on regulation theory based on the works of Antonio Gramsci and is co-director of the Cultural Political Economy Research Center at Lancaster University .

Together with Bob Jessop she developed a cultural political economy, for whose main work Beyond the Regulation Approach: Putting Capitalist Economies in their Place she was awarded the Gunnar Myrdal Prize in 2006.
