Ngofonua is a small island in central Tongatapu in the Pacific . Politically, it belongs to the Kingdom of Tonga .
geography
The Motu is located in the center of the archipelago in the southeast bay of the lagoon Fangaʻuta Lagoon . Ngofonua is the center of Vaini Bay . Further to the east is the islet of Mo'ungatapu .
climate
The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands of the Tongatapu Group, Ngofonua is occasionally hit by cyclones .
