The Ngor Monastery is the founding monastery of the Ngor Tradition (Ngorpa), one of the three main sub-schools of the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism , which had close ties to Nepal. It was founded in 1429 by Künga Sangpo (1382-1456) and is the seat of the throne holder of Ngor Evam Chöden .

The monastery is located in Qugboxung Township, Shigatse City , Tibet . Sanggye Phüntshog (1649–1705) wrote a biography of its founder . To the research have Amye Zhab (1597-1659) and Loter Wangpo (1847-1914) merits acquired. A more recent history of the monastery comes from Thubten Nyinpo.
