Miguel Juárez Celman (born September 29, 1844 in Córdoba , † April 14, 1909 in Arrecife ) was an Argentine politician . He was President of Argentina between October 12, 1886 and August 6, 1890.

His reign was marked by corruption and abuse of power and established what is now known in Argentina as Unicato - a political leader with a party. This, along with economic decline, led to the creation of the Unión Cívica , an opposition group that later split into the Unión Cívica Nacional and the Unión Cívica Radical . The latter is one of the most important political parties in Argentina today. In 1890 a revolution forced him to resign and his Vice President Carlos Pellegrini took power.

Miguel Juárez Celman became a member of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem in 1888 .
